Big Beef tomato AAS (73 days) An earlier Beefsteak type. Many experts at the AAS trials described this variety as ""the best tomato yet developed."" A good choice to try in virtually any climate, readily overcoming adverse growing conditions and adapting easily to different environments. Coupled with old-fashioned, rich flavor, it features bred-in hybrid qualities: colossal fruit size and yield, uniformity and a full spectrum of disease resistance. Smooth fruits are globe-shaped, weighing 9 oz. to one pound. Indeterminate.
All packs of tomato seeds are weighed to 0.1 gm and contain aprox. 25 - 40 seeds, about double a store pack.
Get your seeds EARLY. Tomatoes need to be started 4-6 weeks before you want to plant them out.
I DO save some tomato varieties myself. Whether purchased or my own, this is the same seed that I use for my market garden business. In the spring we sell plants for at least 75 varieties of tomatoes at the Farmer's Markets. We also plant out a good selection of the varieties for fresh tomatoes later at the markets. All my varieties have some specific great trait or 2 that makes them good varieties to grow.
